According to ESPN’s recent poll of 12 NFL executives, the Bears’ moves weren’t necessarily perfect. In fact, they received a B- for their offseason grade. This Bears offseason comes down to whether Matt Nagy is the right choice as head coach. Most execs liked the decision to select Roquan Smith eighth overall, despite some concerns over positional value for a 3-4 inside linebacker that early.
On Wednesday, another former Cowboy, linebacker DeMarcus Ware, made a plea for someone to sign Bryant, per the Dallas Morning News :
I talked to Dez last week, and I don’t know why he hasn’t gotten a job, Ware said. From the training I see him doing, he can still get out there and do it. He has a lot more years in him. A team is going to pick him….His spirits are up. Dez still has that bite to go out there and play. That’s what’s keeping him training and getting him ready for somebody to give him a call.
Eagles vs. Trump? Not really
Ware is the latest former teammate to go to bat for Bryant.
Tony Romo, his former quarterback, is endorsing Bryant for future employment, based on comments he made on May 1st, per ESPN :
If I was talking to any of the GMs or coaches, I would tell them he’s not going to hurt the locker room in any possible way. He’s going to come out and he’ll be a great teammate when he gets there. I think he’ll have a couple options here soon.
